Meet Helen

I am an award-winning, mobile, licensed optician with the mission to provide affordable, professional prescriptive eyewear to everyone. I believe that eyewear should be accessible to all, irrespective of age, mobility or financial status.

Additionally, I am also the owner and Education Director for The Secure Vision Mobile Optical Academy, an education platform for aspiring mobile opticians. I am proud to be working hard to develop new business models that are profitable and sustainable. I help mobile optical businesses work for both the entrepreneur and their clients - providing education around systems that allow the optician to improve their life work balance and still produce exemplary results for their optical clients.

For me, cultivating a connection with the communities I work and reside within is paramount. To provide my clients with the best possible service, I bring my wealth of knowledge and skills in the optical industry to each of my business endeavours. I believe that accountability, professionalism and responsibility are my keys to success!

Outside of my mobile optical business and my education platform, I can be found instructing emergency first aid for divers through the DAN programs. I thoroughly enjoy diving for pleasure so it was only fitting to educate my peers to keep everyone safe. You can also find me volunteering when possible at the Little Ray of Hope School in Kwangware Nairobi, Kenya. Giving these children the opportunity to experience vision solutions has been the most uplifting and rewarding experiences I’ve had. I’m grateful for the philanthropic opportunities I have been able to participate in!

I am passionate about my work and take pride in the professional services I am able to offer to all of my clients and students. Most recently, I was selected as a winner of the 2021 International Optician of the Year award, an achievement I am incredibly proud of.

Helen was amazingly helpful when I was shopping for new glasses. I let her know the concerns I had with the previous glasses I owned and she pulled out many pairs of beautiful glasses based on my criteria. I chose two pairs, got my prescription updated, and went back to pay. Helen could have quickly sold me the two pairs I had picked, but she phoned and left me a message to let me know she had added new options to her inventory. I was able to try those on too!
